A simple yet highly addictive game with cute graphics and good humor, Dumb Ways to Die is a fun installment taking after the safety campaign run made by Metro Trains in Melbourne. The gameplay features 15 mini-games, each of which shows a dilemma which the player needs to fix in mere seconds. Players tap, swipe, shake, run or blow to complete all the challenges and save the little characters in the game from dying in specific situations. For example players have to tap rapidly on their screens to put out a guy on fire and in another challenge they have to wipe all the puke from the screen to prevent the character from slipping and falling to his death. Players have only three lives, 3 mistakes made and the game is over. Quick thinking is crucial in the game, especially when the game gets faster as the player progresses. Players can also unlock different characters by getting highscores in the game and also unlock the safety video this game was based on.
As the screenshot game illustrates. A player has to swat all the bees before they sting the poor guy. Overall the graphics are pleasant to look at. But there should be more variety offered to the game and more incentives to save a character. And yes it does get hard! As the player advances the games gets harder and harder. The tasks require more from a player and more reflexes but all that makes it more fun to play. The game offers a great past time and an addiction. The sounds and the music are very good, as it adjusts to every level and every situation. The best thing about this game is the precision and the execution of the gameplay. It challenges you to do better at it every time you fail.
All in all the game is amazing to play. They should definitely make an installment, offering more levels and more characters to choose and play with. The games should get a 4.5+ review. It is available for free on Apple iTunes and Google Play.
